8 Steps to
Transform Your
Next Event

You don't have
to hire a professional
event designer
to look like you did!

1
Think of your guests' comfort zones. Start by thinking of the floor plan. Trying to fit too many elements into the room can cause congestion and make it awkward. Be sure there's enough room for guests to move around comfortably.
2
Transform ordinary spaces with lighting. It’s one of the most cost-effective ways to create ambiance. Lighting can...

... Appear to expand or shrink the size of a room.

... Direct attention to architectural details, product displays, presenters, or by
using gobos you can promote your brand or create unique scenic.

... Energize a group - light that pulsates, changes color or sweeps back and forth
across a room produces an energetic vibe.

... Create an intimate atmosphere when you use gentle washes of soft light
contrasted by a few bright highlights.
3
Set up a destination, not just a room. Rent unique furniture and props to transform typical settings into destinations. Transport attendees to a glitzy Vegas casino, a relaxing mountaintop ski chalet, or Margaritaville, USA. Or just mix it up. Have cabert tables, mixed with rounds of 8, combined with cocktail tables.
4
Use projection equipment just for fun. Use projection equipment and presentation screens to display images or continuous looping multi-media presentations on several different screens throughout the event.
5
Keep your mind open to the outrageous. Don't rule anything out until you've really thought it through. Some ideas that might seem outrageous at first turn out to be the best ones. An open mind attracts creative solutions.
6
Offer variety and flavor to special diets. Ask your caterer to create an exciting and complete menu for the vegetarian, Halal or other special diets in the group.
7
Hire "out of the ordinary" performers. Live bands, DJs and even individual musicians can be expensive. Instead, consider hiring caricaturists, celebrity impersonators or magicians to add fun to a themed event. Performers like this can help stretch your budget. Pair background music with simple food and let these performers circulate to create a unique experience.
8
Remember, bigger is not always better. Simple, tastefully appointed, creatively lit set-ups can be your best bet for a great event!
