At Q Center, the largest conference center in the Midwest, we believe it is our social responsibility to reduce the environmental impact of the meetings we hold here in every way possible. We are committed to being a green conference center and a responsible leader in the hospitality industry.
That is why meetings are different at Q. And the evidence of our environmental commitment is everywhere.
As part of our green conference center initiative, we have made recycling options available in all 1,042 guest rooms, all meeting rooms and every office. An average of 4 tons of cardboard, 2.5 tons of paper and 50 cubic yards of commingled plastic, aluminum and glass are recycled at Q each month.
Just as important is what you don’t see…bottled water, for example. More than 28 billion plastic water bottles are purchased each year in the U.S. At Q Center, rather than contributing to this problem, we’ve installed more than 40 purified water stations throughout the facility. Greenware cups, lids and straws, made of 100% compostable material, are located at each station. It’s portable, accessible, available 24/7, pure and eco-friendly.
