Culinary philosophy: “Simple is better. Most times the best meal is one that’s simple in flavor and appearance. Even the look and feel of a room can be complete with just a few key elements to enhance, not overpower, the event.”
Favorite type of event: “Anything with a theme! I love the challenge of dreaming up new ideas to coordinate the menu, décor and ambiance.”
Proudest career moment: “Earning a Bronze Medal in the Culinary Competition at the National Restaurant Show for my Wildflower Petits Fours and Handmade Chocolate Box.”
Top chef: “My mother and Julia Child. My mom worked every day and would still make the time to prepare wonderful meals daily for seven people. Even as a child, I would watch Julia Child with awe on Chicago’s public television station, WTTW. She was such an inspiring person with the gift of making cooking look so simple and so exciting.”
