Please join us in welcoming Autumn Walters to the Q Center team! Autumn will serve as a Sales Manager who is responsible for corporate accounts. Autumn joins us with over 13 years of experience in the hospitality industry, most recently serving as Director of Sales at the Geneva Ridge Resort in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. She has also worked for Renaissance Chicago O’Hare Suites, The Westin Chicago Northwest and she has earned an MBA in Management from Argosy University in Chicago.
A brief interview with Autumn
Where are you originally from?
I am from Dixon, Illinois, which also happens to be the boyhood home of President Ronald Reagan and where Walgreens was founded.
Are there any interesting facts we should know about you?
I have a two and a half year old daughter named Brooke. I enjoy playing tennis and traveling. I have worked in most hospitality departments (housekeeping, front office, night audit, banquets, catering, convention services and sales).
What's your favorite part about working at Q Center so far?
I have appreciated the warm, professional atmosphere. Q Center is a great product because of the people. I look forward to being part of this great team.
How have you seen the meetings & events industry evolve over the past a 13 years of your career?
It's been a challenging few years for the hospitality industry. The state of the economy caused companies to curtail spending on training and travel. Therefore, department heads and administrative staff have absorbed the duties that were once handled by an entire meeting department.
The good news is, the Internet has allowed meeting planners to research multiple meeting location options and compare pricing more easily. Advertising through social media is on the rise as well, giving organizations the opportunity to target an even greater audience.
